Setting the Responsible Standards

measure what matters

UKRPS Standard

 What the Accreditation Measure

The UK Responsible Procurement Standard (UKRPS) assesses suppliers against a structured, evidence-based framework covering responsible procurement, governance, social value, environmental sustainability, and delivery capability.

The Standard is built around themed assessment areas, each containing scored questions, required evidence, and improvement targets. Accreditation is awarded based on demonstrated maturity, not self-declared intent..

How the Standard Works

Suppliers are assessed against a defined set of questions under each theme. For every question, suppliers must:

  • Confirm whether the requirement is met
  • Provide verifiable evidence (policies, data, records, links)
  • Demonstrate implementation, not just existence
  • Identify improvement actions where maturity is developing

Scores across all themes determine the accreditation tier achieved.
